Food & You: The Lucky Monk

The Lucky Monk, located on105 Hollywood Blvd, South Barrington, Illinois is the perfect place to go for any occasion. The atmosphere is cool enough for teenagers yet subtle enough for adults.The entire time my uncle could not stop raving about their beer and from the looks of it, it was really good. To distract myself from the fact that I couldn’t try a sip, I ordered the Ginger Peach Ice tea. It comes in the fancy bottle from the company, The Republic of Tea. It was so good that it made me forget all about the beer that I couldn’t be drinking.

The best tea I have ever waited 15 minutes on

The food here is reasonably priced for the quality of it. They are well known for their beer and burgers but I had a taste for fried pickles and pizza and that did not disappoint. The pizza we ordered was fresh and delicious, topped with quality sausage and peppers. After eating almost all of the pizza, the fried pickles were so good we got ourselves a second helping.

Not only is the fancy beer and food spot-on but so is the atmosphere. This place is perfect for teens, adults, and even family. The Lucky Monk is filled with attractive decorating that compliments their beer theme without making it look like just a typical bar layout. The wait staff is friendly and professional and our server politely talked with my chatterbox uncle at the end of our dinner.

I highly recommend The Lucky Monk. It will definitely be one of my first stops once I turn 21.
