See science collide with expression first hand at Harper College’s Art Exhibition Space. Since 1999 artist, Stephen Cartwright has been collecting hard data to create his new display, “Walking in the Rain” and it has just arrived in building C room 200 now until February 22nd.
At first look, they are designs constructed using waves of color that create different images or perspectives from all angles. However, after doing some research, it was discovered that these structures of color are not just abstract designs but they are waves based off of real science and data.
Cartwright’s creative mind has mended data and design to create colorful works of art. Cartwright’s work features measurement of human power outdoor activity, rainfall, and driving mileage all of which he has turned it into captivating constructs; data has never looked so interesting.
